The assistant
1
The prompt says what it cannot do
And what happens instead — transfer, take a message, offer a callback. An
assistant that doesn’t know its limits promises things you have to undo.
2
The first message is right, in the right language
It’s spoken verbatim. Read it out loud once.
3
There's a way out
A transfer to a human, or at least an end-call tool.
Never leave a caller with no exit.
4
Idle handling is on
Set an idle timeout. Without one, a caller who walks away holds the line open.
The data
1
Outcomes are assigned
They only record on assistants you assign them to. Going live without them
means a week of calls you can’t analyse. See Outcomes.
2
Knowledge is attached and processed
Attached, showing completed, and in search mode unless you meant
otherwise.
3
Recording and consent are what you intend
Including the consent wording in every language you take calls in. See
Recording and consent.
The phone side
1
The number is assigned
To the right assistant. See Phone numbers.
2
The connection shows ready
Not “incomplete”. Run setup again if it isn’t.
3
You have called it yourself
From a mobile, not a browser. See Testing.
4
Transfer destinations answer
Ring each one. A transfer to a number nobody picks up is worse than no
transfer.
The account
1
There is credit on the account
And auto-recharge is on if you don’t want to watch it. See
Organisation.
2
Your own provider keys are in, if you are using them
See Integrations.
3
The right people have access
And anyone who only needs to read calls is a viewer.
