# call.status_updated

> Sent when a call changes state while it's running.

Fires during a call, rather than at the end. Use it for a live view of what's
happening; use
[`call.completed`](/api-reference/webhooks/call-completed) for the results.

## Fields

| `status` | Where the call is now |
| `call.id` | The call id, matching the other events |
| `customer.number` | The other person's number |
| `contact` | The matched [contact](/contacts), when there is one |

## Using it

Good for a live dashboard, or for marking a record as "on a call right now".

Don't use it to decide a call is finished — use
[`call.completed`](/api-reference/webhooks/call-completed), which carries the
summary and outcomes that this event doesn't have yet.
